Like many newer models LG appliances, the LG InstaView refrigerator comes with built-in smart diagnosis to help solve any potential issues that may arise. By running a smart diagnosis, it can help the owner discover what is wrong so that they can repair the issue or point the service technician in the right direction.
How to Run Smart Diagnosis by Phone
In order to run the smart diagnosis on your refrigerator, you will need to start first by locking the control panel by locating the lock button and holding it for three seconds. Once done, open the right side of your refrigerator door and find the smart diagnosis label at the top right hinge.
You will now need to make a call to the LG diagnosis call center where they will then prompt you to hold the speaker of your phone to this hinge area. When instructed, press and hold the Freezer button for three seconds. You may wish to enlist some help as you will need to keep the speaker up to the hinge area at the same time.
Once completed, you will hear a beep and the control panel will begin a countdown and your phone will begin a tone transmission. The control panel will display “End” when finished. The specialist at the call center will then inform you of what is wrong and what you can do to fix it.
How to Run Smart Diagnosis by App
If you do not want to call support, you will need to have the SmartThinQ app installed on your smartphone. From here, you will have the option to start a smart diagnosis where you will again be prompted to hold the speaker up to that right hinge area.
By running it through the app, it will give you the diagnosis of what is wrong right on your phone. This can be handy if you wish to if things yourself.
